Edward P. Mascari


Edward P. Mascari has composed a wide variety of orchestral, chamber, choral and pedagogical music. He has been the recipient of numerous commissions and awards, and his compositions have been performed throughout the United States including premieres at Carnegie Recital Hall and at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. Mr. Mascari is a graduate of Holy Cross College and holds Master of Music Degrees in both Jazz Studies and Classical Composition from New England Conservatory. He taught as a graduate assistant in the Theory Department at Boston University where he was enrolled in the doctoral program. His composition teachers have included William Thomas McKinley, Charles Fussell, Marjorie Merryman, and Lukas Foss. In addition to his work as a composer, Mr. Mascari has been performing professionally for more than three decades and has spent nearly a quarter of a century as a private piano teacher. For the past 20 years, he has also been the organist and choir director at the Hartford Street Presbyterian Church in Natick, Massachusetts.
